50 memorial cards and 25 thank you cards. Additional memorial cards and thank you cards can be purchased for $2 per card with a minimum 50 card order. This package also includes a Register Book.

This usually includes fruit and vegetable platters, finger sandwiches, light desserts, coffee and tea. Depending on what is chosen, catering is between $5-$20 per person.

Bathing, dressing and application of cosmetics if required without any chemical embalming.

The disinfection, restoration and temporary preservation of the deceased including bathing, dressing, and cosmetics if required.

Embalming Disclosure: Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.  

Depending on where the death occurs, we may be required to send a second staff member to the place of death for the transfer. This is done for a death at home and in some cases of a nursing home death. There will also be situations beyond our control where a second staff member is required.

A service that provides the delivery of cremated remains directly to you via registered mail, if personally delivered by one of our directors mileage charges apply.

In the event that the cremation process needs to be facilitated in a shorter time frame than usual, this charge is applicable for cremation to be completed within 48 hours of receiving the cremation permit. In addition, depending on the crematory selected, there may be a fee levied by that crematory for expedited cremation.

When a family faces the death of a loved one they often take comfort in a familiar place. Many families use Basic Funerals to have the complete visitation and funeral service at their family church or facility of their choice. Basic Funerals specializes in completely taking care of everything for these types of services.  

Bronzeville Community Clubhouse is a comfortable, luxurious site for your memorial service. Enjoy a cozy, yet first class facility designed to accommodate the needs of any small to midsize group from 5 to 150. Room rental: Chairs and tables for up to four hours for $350. Seating for 50 - 75.  

Rental Costs: Monday - Sunday 7am-5pm: $500. Sunday Evening: $1,000. Friday or Saturday Evening: $1,500. Holidays (New Years Eve): $2,500. Galleria Unico formed a multipurpose event space in May of 2008. Unico is located in the gentrified Wicker Park in Chicago, IL. Galleria Unico expanded and moved to its now larger 2700 sqft Wicker Park location and celebrated its Grand Opening in Oct, 2010. The flexibility and freedom of allows the client to create their memorial service with the help of the experienced Unico professionals.  

3 rooms available: Exhibition room, 50 person reception $750. Gallery Ballroom, 230 person reception $3000. Contemporary room, 150 person reception $2000. Additonal services beyond room rental are extra. The boutique Hotel Palomar Chicago, offers elegant meeting facilities and an artful setting for your memorial. Our River North hotel provides 5,800 square feet of meeting space in our flexible meeting rooms, accommodating up to 160 seated guests or 300 for a reception.

Urns are handmade using a centuries old paper making technique (environmentally friendly - no trees are cut down to manufacture this product). This biodegradable urn will float momentarily and then gracefully sink. Once on the ocean floor, the urn will break down naturally over time. Includes a water-soluble plastic bag which dissolves on contact with water, allowing the cremated remains to be dispersed within minutes.

Many families are choosing a basic cremation without a viewing. For this option, our cardboard container, designed and manufactured for Basic Funerals, is a reasonable choice from a cost and environmental perspective. This container is 100% green and will disperse less carbon than a casket.

Use of our service van to bring flowers to the visitation, funeral service and graveside.

The lead vehicle of a funeral procession that navigates the accompanying cars in a safe and unified manner. The clergy, if chosen, would ride in this car as well.

A limousine that can drive the family between their home, funeral service, and reception.

The use of a hearse to transfer the casket during the funeral service.

If the requested vehicles go over the 3 hour limit this charge will apply.

If a family requires more time with their loved one than included in our packaged options, this fee covers staffing and other services for time beyond the original visitation.

If you request a reception after the funeral, we will provide staff to facilitate the reception and help out with anything needed for you and your family.

Additional pallbearers to assist you in carrying the casket from the vehicle to the graveside. Please note that this is only necessary when there are not enough able friends or family to act as pallbearers.

Many families have found comfort in having a memory of all the attendees of the funeral service in a guest signed register book.

50 memorial cards and 25 thank you cards. Additional memorial cards and thank you cards can be purchased for $2 per card with a minimum 50 card order. This package also includes a Register Book.

Staff fee for funeral or service rites held during the burial of cremated remains.

This usually includes fruit and vegetable platters, finger sandwiches, light desserts, coffee and tea. Depending on what is chosen, catering is between $5-$20 per person.

Bathing, dressing and application of cosmetics if required without any chemical embalming.

The disinfection, restoration and temporary preservation of the deceased including bathing, dressing, and cosmetics if required.

Embalming Disclosure: Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.  

Depending on where the death occurs, we may be required to send a second staff member to the place of death for the transfer. This is done for a death at home and in some cases of a nursing home death. There will also be situations beyond our control where a second staff member is required.

A service that provides the delivery of cremated remains directly to you via registered mail, if personally delivered by one of our directors mileage charges apply.

In the event that the cremation process needs to be facilitated in a shorter time frame than usual, this charge is applicable for cremation to be completed within 48 hours of receiving the cremation permit. In addition, depending on the crematory selected, there may be a fee levied by that crematory for expedited cremation.
